SSPT #4

Happy Monday Morning to ya!
It's time for the fourth challenge over at Sugar Sweet Paper Treats. This challenge was thrown out by our own Lacy! She challenged us to use polka dots on our creations. This was totally fun!
I looked around in my stash and found some awesome pink ribbon with black polka dots and went from there. This card wasn't created for anyone in specific....just one of those nice "Just a Note cards.
Here is my take on the challenge........

The stamp is from Penny Black and is called Chicky Express. To darn cute. I loved it because the envelope has polka dots too! I cut him out using Nesties and I colored it with my Bic Markers. The black polka dot paper is from the DCWV LeCreme Stack. The rest is Bazzill. The ribbon as I said was from my stash as well as the buttons in the center of the bow. I used my Stampin' Up ticket punch on the corners and added a few brads. The pink band was edged with a Martha Stewart punch.
Hope you like.

Birthday Bucket

Happy Saturday!
Hope everyone is having a great day. Well I got back into my baskets. I wanted to share one I did for my hubby's cousin Stacey for her birthday. We heading off to a BBQ for the big birthday in a little bit! YAY!

I got one of those plastic drink tubs for summer parties. I filled it with reusable plastic plates, cups, a small ice bucket, napkins, plastic ware, a pitcher, some place mats and some dish towels. The bucket and everything inside is red. They have a basement themed after the local university here and the colors are red and black, so I figured they could use it all outside or in the bar area of their home.
I used Alphalicious for the balloons. Then I ran each one through the Cuttlebug using Divine Swirls, Argyle, Happy Birthday & Paisley embossing folders and tied color coordinated ribbon in a bow around the sticks. The two party hats are cut from the Celebrations cartridge and then embossed with the Traffic Jam folder. The cupcakes and "Happy Birthday" are both cut from Hello Kitty Greetings.

Here is the card I made to go along with it.....

I wanted to use all the same colors so this card came out pretty thick. The monkeys are of course my little buddy Changito from Stampendous.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Airplane Birthday!

Hi again!
I wanted to share a card I did for my uncle who is having a birthday today.
Guy cards are sometimes hard because you can't use a lot of flowers and bling. He loves airplanes so I really wanted to use one. That's the best part of making cards is taking something your family loves and using that to create something unique for them. I used the sketch from Card Patterns for the layout. Check it out here.
Here is what I came up with....

I used the My community cartridge to cut the six airplane silhouettes. The squares are all cut using my Nestabilites through my Cuttlebug. The shadows on the nesties were just cut using my regular paper trimmer. The scalloped edge is my EKsuccess punch. I printed out the sentiment on photo paper and cut it out also with Nesties as well as the scalloped shadow.

I really love how this came out and he did too. He received it today!

Happy Birthday!!! Hope to have some family fun soon! Congrats on your hat pins!

Another Award!

Hi!

I received "The Rocking Girl Blogger Award from my super talented blogging buddy Tammy.
Run on over and check out Tammy's creations here. Every single one of her creations rock and she always takes the time to leave an encouraging comment when she visits. Thanks so much girl! It makes my day to see you've stopped by!

Wedding Card!

Good evening!
I just wanted to share a quick wedding card I did. This one was for my hubby's cousin who got married this past Friday.
It's very plain but the colors I think make it look a bit more involved than it is.

I used the Wedding Cartridge to cut the bells.

Boy this post was short and sweet....LOL!

Have a great night!

Baseball Mother's Day!

I have one more to show you today.
I made this card for my grandma for Mother's Day. She's crazy about baseball and she's in LOVE with the Cleveland Indian's
My family went together and got her tickets to a local minor league baseball game, a shirt and some other baseball related stuff.
I figured a baseball card would be perfect! It also fits the challenge over at the Scrappy Frog's Challenge blog which is to use something round.

I welded two baseball shadow's together in Cricut Design Studio using my Sports Mania cartridge. It's hard to tell but I distressed the bottom edge to give it a little more 3D look. Inside I stamped Happy Mother's Day!

MoJo Monday Birthday!

Hi there,
Here is a birthday card I whipped up using this week's MoJo Monday sketch! Yet again it's fabulous! You can find it here. This card is for my cousin's wife Belinda.

I absolutely love this Changito stamp by Stampendous. Oh, who am I kidding I love them all. I'm not sure who makes the balloon stamp. I will check and add it later. I colored the stamps with my Prismas. The scallops are my EKsuccess punch!

Happy Birthday Belinda!

Baby girl!

Good Morning!
Hope everyone is having an OK Monday!
My sister-in-law just found out she's having a baby girl! My hubby and I couldn't be more happy to become an aunt & uncle! She's not due till the end of Sept though.
Be warned...lots of baby shower stuff to come in the next couple months....HOW FUN!!!!
Anyway, my hubby and I picked up a couple outfits down in Myrtle Beach and gave them to her yesterday for mother's day.
Here's the card to go with.....

I believe all the paper is DCWV..my go to paper..LOL! The sentiment was cut from the paper. I cut the lamb from Animal Kingdom in white and cut the layers (wool) from white glitter paper. Added some googly eyes and a bow. The two flowers on either side of "baby girl" are little flower brads.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great week

Happy Mother's Day & SSPT #3

Happy Mother's Day!
Hope all the mom's had a great day!
Mom, if you're out there Happy Mother's Day! Love ya!
I want to share a project I made for my mom for her special day. This is also my Sugar Sweet Paper Treats design team project for challenge three. We had to do something 3D and use flowers. Head over and check out what my fellow DT members whipped up. Fabulous stuff. Please play along too. We would LOVE to see what you come up with!
I snuck this in for one more challenge too....Paper Blooms this time was to create a project for a special woman in your life.
Anyway, here is what I made my mom........

I got the canister from her favorite wild bird store. It has little Hummingbirds on it. She loves Hummingbirds. All the flowers were cut from the Walk in My Garden cartridge. I cut each flower several times and layered them. I curled & inked the edges of each piece to make them pop. The centers are buttons from my stash. The watering can is a reproduction of Donna Mundinger's idea that was just featured over at Custom Crops. I redid her file to make it a bit larger. Thanks Donna! The hummingbirds were cut using George and a cut file that Okie (from the Circut messageboard) had on her blog. Thanks Okie!
Here is a closer look.......

Inside the canister there were a few wild bird related treasures!
Hope MOM and the DT approved!

Graduation Invitations

Hi Again!
So I got another order! Ya! It's so fun to have customers. This is the second set of invitations I've been asked to do! These are for a high school graduation. They are a little unique. They wanted to do something out of the ordinary so no typical cap & gown or diploma. We didn't even use the school colors. They wanted a sleek, classy, clean look.
It was so fun....but I have to say my corner rounder died during this job...RIP...LOL!
Here is what we came up with. I did 80 of these.
And the inside....
I really liked doing these and they went so fast!
Hope you like and thanks for stopping by!

Beach Fun Thank You!

Good evening!
Hope everyone is having a good evening.
I wanted to share a card I did for my parents. Many of you know I just got back from Myrtle Beach with my family. We have started a family tradition where 6 members go the same week every year. Well my wonderful mom & dad let us stay in their condo..."rent free"!
They also treat us to golf & dinner. Isn't that just toooo sweet. We have such a great time. I'm already ready for next year!
Anyway, I wanted to make them a Thank You card....here is what I came up with.....

I broke it down into three columns so I could include all the ways they were generous! I used yellow paper for a "sunny" look. The golf tee is from Sports Mania. The golf ball is just a circle cut with Nesties and then embossed with the bubbles Cuttlebug folder. I like this look a little better than the golf ball from Sports Mania. The palm tree is cut from my new Life's A Beach cartridge and the utensils are cut from the Dreams Come True cartridge. All in all I think it came out well!

Wedding Card

Hi Again,
Here is yet another card I did today. It's so good to be hanging out in my room.
This card is for a wedding I have on Saturday. This is the same wedding I did the "pistachio" wedding basket for awhile back.
I had some left over paper and ribbon so it worked out.
I went simple with this but I think it came out good.

I shadowed the beige with "pistachio" Bazzil bling. The beige paper is actually Glass Slipper Bazzill Bling. I ran that through the Cuttlebug using Divine Swirls.

Thinking of you- Sympathy

I'm on a roll today! The mojo is flowing again! YAY!

This card is SusieB inspired. Those of you who frequent the Cricut messageboard know her well. I unexpectedly needed a sympathy card today. A family friend's family is going through a really hard time due to a terrible tragedy.
I had always wanted to try an all white card so I figured this was the right time.
Here is the card....

I used my scor-pal to scor four lines along the bottom and tied the bow in the middle. I ran the top through the Cuttlebug using the Leafy Branch A2 embossing folder.
I think it came out pretty well. I will definitely try another one soon!
Thanks for stopping by!

Cat sitter Thanks!

Hi again!
I wanted to share another card I did today. I based the card on sketch 83 from the MoJo Monday blog. Check it out here.
This one is for my Mother-In-Law who takes care of our cats when we go away.

The cat was cut from Animal Kingdom. The scalloped border was punched from my EKsuccess punch. The ribbon and buttons were from my stash and the paper is from the 8x8 cat stack by DCWV.

AH Finally..New Post & New Puppy!

Finally! It feels sooooo good to have something new to post.
I actually just finished an order of 80 High School Graduation Invitations. I will be posting them soon! Now on to a card I made for my hubby's aunt & uncle. Some of you may remember the pet sympathy card I made for them and posted a couple weeks ago. They lost their beloved Border Collie, Mandy. Well they decided to dive in and a adopt a new little furry friend...another Border Collie.
Here is the card I came up with....

The image of the dog was a clip art I found online. I cut him out with my Nesties. I cut the shadow Nestie twice once in white and then in black. I cut the black one in half so it looks like it changes color on the opposite sides. The ribbon was from my stash. I added a few brads at the top and I was done.
Here is the inside.....

I used word to make "New Puppy" and cut Nestie scallops to circle it. The "congratulations" stamp is from Stampabilities.
Hope you and they like!

I'm Back!

Hi!
Just letting everyone know I'm back from my trip to the beach with the fam!
We had such a wonderful time. I was sad to see it end!
Margarita's everyday over looking the ocean...it doesn't get any better!!!!
We played a little golf, lounged around, swam, and of course hit all the awesome restaurants.
We didn't see a drop of rain! The mornings were interesting with the fire smoke/fog. But by 9:00- 9:30 it would clear and then beautiful blue skies!!!!!
I did check in on all of you now and then and let me tell you, you all have done some beautiful work while I was away. I was missing my scrappin space!!!
I'm looking forward to jumping back in! hopefully once I tackle all the laundry... I'll have some new stuff to post tomorrow!!!
