SSPT #2!!!!

Hello again,
I just want to post my project for the Sugar Sweet Paper Treats Design Team. It's due next week but I'm away on vacation and wouldn't be able to get it posted. I took a picture as I was walking out the door to leave. Talk about last minute. So I want to get it posted before I forget.
The challenge this time was a Neapolitan Ice Cream theme. How fun is that!!!! We had to use our favorite flavor as the main color. I think I like Strawberry the best (it changes with the day...lol) so there is a lot of pink as well as some strawberries.
Here is what I came up with......

I used Tags, Bags, Boxes & More for the cake box in brown for a "Chocolate" cake. For the cake "filling" I used a strip of pink "fat" ribbon and then on top of that I used a skinny white for the "Vanilla" and "strawberry" layers. For the "icing" I used a patterned paper I found at Hobby Lobby and used my EK Success punch to give the "frosting" edge a pretty look. I sprinkled a few adhesive gems on the edge of the frosting. For the bows on the top I used a very think shimmery pink ribbon and well as some sheer ribbon that was Neapolitan themed. I tied two bows and glued them together with my low-temp glue gun. I topped it all of with a Strawberry cut from Indie Art!

The card was made using all the same elements as the cake just moved around a bit.

Hope you all enjoy. And don't forget to hop on over the the Sugar Sweet Paper Treats site to see what my fellow design team members came up with! They did some FABULOUS work!

Check in with ya all soon!

I'm on VACATION!!!!!

Good Sunday to everyone!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Yeah!
We got here yesterday to blue sky's and 85 degree weather. The fires seem to be under control and you couldn't even smell it.
But this morning the wind is light so there is a dense fog and smoke in the area. You can't even see across the street. I took some pics this morning....

From this picture you wouldn't think we're going to have a good time. But as I'm typing this, it clearing already and the blue sky is poking through. The smell is pretty bad though. The wind is expected to shift so we'll see.
Next as I took a couple days away from the computer to pack and travel here. I see that I received two more awards.
The first is from Steph over at "Where'd all my money go." I'm so thrilled that she thought of me for this award. I've only been blogging since the end of January this year. I've met such wonderful people and discovered some amazing talent out there. Make sure you check out Steph's blog she does some FABULOUS work!!!! Thanks so much Steph. You are toooooo sweet!

The next is from my sweet blogging buddy Diana at Diana's AuSome Creations. Diana and I became blogging buddies a few months ago. I love checking out here blog. She does some AMAZING work. Be sure to hop on over and check her out!

Now I'm supposed to pass this award on. But my blogging time is limited being on vacation and all so I promise I will get to it when I get back next weekend!

Thanks to both Steph and Diana. You girls ROCK!!!
I will try to check in on all of you as much as I can. But I won't be posting or commenting much this week. Have a great week everyone

Spring Basket!

I have one more thing to show you today.
I was asked to do a gift basket for a Mother's Day Tea at the assisted living where my mom and I volunteer. My grandparents lived there and since we've lost them my mom and I still volunteer there from time to time. I had done the black and white wedding basket for the administrator there and once they saw that they asked if I would be willing to do special event baskets for them from time to time. Of course I said YES!!!!
Here is what I came up with....

All the cuts are from Walk in my Garden. I used the Hyacinth, Hydrangea, Daffodil and Daisy for the flowers. I also used all three butterfly's two bees, two lady bugs and a snail. For most of the cuts I used the Glitter stack from DCWV. I also used a lot of colored adhesive gems to glam up the butterfly's and some of the flowers. I think it came out pretty good.

I didn't have time to take close up pics. I like to take close ups to look back on. Oh well! I hope to have my Sugar Sweet Paper Treats challenge done and posted tomorrow! So check back!

Have a great evening!

April Challenge Cricut Message Board.

Good evening!
I'm trying to get a bunch of stuff done before I head out of town to the beach this weekend. YAHOO! I have three cards for challenges I need to get done. Two of which are due while I'm away. Nothing like trying to pack up, me, hubby and the dog and try to get crafting done all at the same time. Plus, I'm one of those people who have to have the house clean before I can leave. So that's an extra step but I LOVE coming home to a clean house!
Anyway, I finally got my card done for the April challenge over at the Cricut Message board. I'm on Team One - Just Buggin away. The challenge was to use the card feature on any of the carts.
I hope my team approves of my card.

I cut the doily card from Wild Card at fit to page and blackout in brown. I cut it again regular in baby blue. The little elephant was cut from Zooballo twice and pop dotted. I colored around the edges with my Prismas to give him a bit more depth and added some googly eyes. The "It's a boy" was from New Arrival. I added a bit of ribbon from my stash to the middle and for the bow at the top. A few blue adhesive gems and a button.

Have a great evening!
Thanks for stopping by!

Golfing Birthday- BBTB

I have another card to show you today!
This week over at Bitten By the Bug, the challenge was to use the 24/7 cut from Graphically Speaking. If you haven't checked out what Regina's Design Team came up with you're really missing out. Head on over by clicking here. Those girls are FABULOUS!
I always have to play along when I can.
Here is my take.....

My hubby's uncle's birthday is Saturday and he as well as the rest of the fam are golf FANATICS! So I wanted to do a golf theme. It's not very birthday-ee (<---like that?) on the outside but guys don't care about that. I cut the big golf ball from George...but it was entirely to big so I chopped some of it off. Don't cha just love when mistakes work out in the end? Anyway, I ran it through the Cuttlebug using the bubble folder. I cut another small "golf ball" as a place to put the 24/7 cut from Graphically Speaking. I shadowed it using my Nesties...I was having a hard time with George today. The "Golf is Life" was cut from Sports Mania. I matted it with the same colors from the background. I used my ticket punch from Stampin' Up and added a few brads on the edges. I think the background paper is from the DCWV Summer Stack last year. I added a little ribbon from my stash above the 24/7 and a few buttons.

I'm really happy with how it came out. Hope he is too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Box

Good afternoon!
The sun is FINALLY out here...so it's such a happy day.
I discovered a new challenge blog that one of my design team sisters help run so I wanted to play along. This is my first time so I'm so excited. It's called Scrappy Frogs Challenge blog. If you haven't checked it out do so here.
The challenge this week was to model a project after the ad for the new Making Memories Slice. They are going to pick a winner and you can win a Making Memories Slice Apron. So Cool!

Here is the ad.....
Here is my project.......

I cut the cake box from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More at fit to page. I think it cut at 9".
I used a grayish paper from Bazzill. For the center "layer" I used a piece of blue vellum and added a sparkly tinsel like ribbon to the center of that. I found it at Hobby Lobby. For the scalloped edges I used my EKSuccess scallop punch and punched them in Turquoise paper also from Bazzill. I added a few Blue adhesive gems to the top. I wanted to use the word "Slice" too. The sentiment was computer generated and cut out with tag Nesties. I piled a bunch of turquoise flowers on the top. On the very top of the pile of flowers I cut a green flower in half and stood it up to mimic the green logo on the slice. The top "frosting" was run through the Cuttlebug using divine swirls.
I also did a card that I'm not happy with...but you can't like em all!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope your day is as sunny as mine. Can you tell I have the Cabin Fever??!!!!

Pink Elephant & MoJo Monday

HI!
Today I did two challenges for one card! I love when I can do that. The sketch over at MoJo Monday is fabulous as usual. Head on over and check it out here. The challenge for the week over at the Pink Elephant was a color challenge using Pink Yellow and Green.
Here is what I put together.....

I did this card for a friends anniversary. I had some left over pastel papers from Easter. I thought the softness of them were great for an anniversary. The stamp is from Stampabilites and is called "The Toast". I colored it using my Prisma's. The border punch is an EK success and the ribbon and button is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good one!

Cuttlebug Ice Cream

Happy Monday everyone.
Hope everyone had a great Easter and weekend!
This week over at the Cuttlebug Spot, Nilda asked her team to create a card that wasn't rectangular or square. So, I pondered this all day and realized I needed a birthday card for one of my best friend's daughter. I was looking up at my carts on top of my new shelves and poof I saw the ice cream cone on the side of the Doodlecharms cart and I had an AH HA moment!
Here is what I came up with......

I welded the cone in Design Studio on shadow and cut it I believe at 7". I cut the cone again on blackout in tan. I ran that layer through the Cuttlebug using the Argyle folder. I cut the cone again and cut the top off and popdotted it to give it dimension over the bottom half. I distressed it a little bit with Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I cut the ice cream part using Glass Slipper Bazzil Bling paper. I then ran it through the cuttlebug using Divine Swirls then used Ice Stickles to trace the swirls to give it a little more shine. I cut the cherry in pink and also ran that through the Cuttlebug using Divine Swirls and stickled it. I had the pink ribbon in my stash and tied a little bow and added a Prima and a skittle to finish it off.
I pretty happy with how it came out and am getting a bit addicted to the shape card. Be sure to head on over to The Cuttlebug Spot and check out the Design Team's cards they are FABULOUS!

Have a great evening!

Bitten By The Bug

I have one more card to share with you today.
This week over at Bitten By the Bug, Regina asked her team to use the Happy Birthday
cut from Hello Kitty Greetings. I LOVE this cartridge, so ANY time I have an excuse to use it I'm a happy happy girl!
Here is my take.......

The background paper is from a stack by Me & My Big Ideas. I love this stack. I cut Happy Birthday at 2 1/4 and doodled around the edges. I added a band of sheer glitter ribbon at the base. You can barely see it but it adds a bit of sparkle. I tied some smaller sheer pink and solid brown ribbon together in a bow and placed it at the top. A few little adhesive gems and I was done. I'm really happy with how this came out.

Hope everyone has a great Holiday weekend!

And always, THANKS for stopping by!

Cuttlebug Spot

Happy Easter Eve!

This week over at the Cuttlebug Spot Nilda asked her team to create an Easter treat container and of course to use your Cuttlebug.
I found a great tutorial on YouTube by Dawn for this little basket.
It was so simple to make and a lot of fun!

To decorate it I used the Swiss Dots folder. Tied a bow around the handle. The little pink flower center is a brad I found at Archiver's. The Happy Easter stamp is by Paper Inspirations. I cut out the stamp and the background scallops using Nesties.

That's it!

Dog Sympathy & "Published"

Good evening.
Happy Easter & Passover to everyone!
I finally got my scraproom furniture up and most everything is in the room. It's just not in it's place...LOL! I hope to get everything situated this weekend. If it's presentable soon I'll share some pictures. I just love it. I just keep walking around in there. I had way more stuff than I thought. When you have to carry everything up a flight of stairs you realize you may have to much stuff...LOL!
On a different note I have one card to share with you.
My hubby's Aunt and Uncle lost their dog this week. She was only six so it was especially hard. I made them this card to let them know we're thinking of them.

The paper and the vellum quote all came from the DCWV 8x8 dog stack. The scalloped circles are nesties and the paw print is from Paper Pups. I embossed the band with a Fiskars plate that had paw prints. The bone is a little brad I had left over and the ribbon was from my stash. I hope they like it.

I have some more exciting news. One of my cards was picked to be featured on Stampendous' blog. I got an email awhile back about one of my St. Patrick's Day cards but they ended up using an Easter one instead. I'm so excited! It's my first time being "published"!
Here is the link to check it out......
Thanks so much for stopping by
and have a wonderful holiday!

Bridal Shower Invitations

Hi there,
Here is another reason I haven't been posting as much this week! I had my first "job" or "client" so exciting! A family friend asked if I would make her daughter's bridal shower invitations. I was so honored to be asked and so excited too. But, I realized there is sooooo much more pressure when your making something for someone else to give away instead of just giving it away yourself. But I think they came out great! She needed 45 and her color was dark green.
Here is what I came up with.....

For the front I used Bazzill Bling in Brown for the main invite. The green and cream solid are also Bazzill. I got the Patterned paper from Michael's and I believe it was My Minds Eye. I got the ribbon at Michael's also. The small flower was cut from Accent Essentials. I used a few adhesive pearls. The "please join us" was stamped. I forget who makes it. The bottom paper looks a little more tan in the picture but it's really dark green.

The inside was computer generated and printed on whitish cream cardstock. I used my EKsuccess photo corner punch to dress it up a bit.

Hope you like! Thanks for stopping by!

MoJo Monday Changito

Happy Thursday everyone.
I know I've been sort of MIA this week. It's been so busy! I'm so excited though my new Scraproom furniture arrived and today we'll be starting to set it up! YAY! My very own space. My poor kitchen has just been taken over. It's feeling so sad! Not for long.
Anyway, the sketch over at MoJo Monday was another great one. If you haven't been over to check it out do so here.

Here is my take....

Both images and sentiment are from a Stampendous Changito package. I colored them with my Prisma colored pencils. The three brads at the bottom are velvet they're so cool.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pink Elelphant & Changito

Happy Monday everyone!
This week over at the Pink Elephant they are having a recipe challenge.
How fun! The recipe is to use Stamps, Punches and Embossing.
Some of my favorite things!
Here is my take.......

I used my favorite little pal Changito and colored him with my Prisma Colored pencils. I embossed the white box behind the main image with the my Paisley Cuttlebug folder. The border flower punch down the side is from Martha Stewart. I sprinkled a few Primas and a little bling.

Hope you like!

Have a great day!

Sugar Sweet Paper Treats Project ONE!

Happy Saturday to ya!
I'm so excited to share my first project as a design team member for Sugar Sweet Paper Treats!
This is my first Design Team so I'm so excited. The first challenge was thrown out by team member Jason. His challenge was to use a "sugar sweet" treat, primary color pink and the word "sweet" on our projects.
Here is my take on the challenge...........

The first thing that popped into my head was the candy store cut from My Community. I cut it at 3 1/2" on shadow and regular. I pop dotted the awning for dimension. I added some bling to the shop and a tiny bow on the roof. The "windows" are little cupcake brads I found on line. I used my Gelato Gelly rolls to do some doodling on the shop and around the edges too. Sweet was cut from Storybook at 1". Sugar is spelled out with those tiny letter beads. The flower center is a glitter coated "candy" from Martha Stewart. The tiny candy to the left of the shop is also from Martha.
I'm so happy with how this came out!

If you haven't been over to SSPT lately you better go and check it out...do that here. My team mates projects are beginning to roll in and I must say they are awesome!

Thanks for stopping by!

House Mouse Easter Box

The challenge this week over at the House Mouse Challenge Blog was to make or use a bag or a box for your creation and of course a House Mouse image. I plan on filling it with Easter Grass and some Jelly Beans for one of the kids in the family.
Here is my take....

To cut the box I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut cartridge. I cut the box at 5. The image is House Mouse, You Crack Me Up. I colored them with Prisma colored pencils. The scallops on the corner are cut from Nesties. I added a bit of Easter ribbon and a button. Pretty simple!

Thanks for checking it out!

Bitten By the Bug

Hi!
This week over at Bitten By the Bug Regina asked her team to use the bunny cut from Doodlecharms. As always, if I have the card I have to play along. It worked out perfect because I'm way behind in my Easter Cards.
Here is my take

I welded the Egg at 7" from the Doodlecharms cart on shadow. I cut the patterned paper from my new DCWV Whimsy stack. The bunny was cut from Doodlecharms both on shadow and regular. The pink ovals from his ears are from George. I also pop dotted him to give him a little dimension. The ribbon at the top was from my stash. I used a Prima and a button for the center. I doodle around the edge of the egg and the bunny.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hopping for the Cuttlebug Spot

Hope your having a hoppin' good day!
The challenge over at the Cuttlebug Spot this week was Double Embossing. Essentially you use two embossing folders on one piece of paper. This challenge was so cool but also a challenge. I tried three different papers before you could tell it was double embossed. I would put it through once then again and the first impression was gone. It was amazing. I finally got it and I really like the outcome.
Here is the card....

I embossed the blue band below the image with the leafy branch (my new fave folder) and swiss dots. The image is Changito Hop Easter. I colored him with my Prisma Colored pencils and stickled his ears and his little bunny slippers. I also added a tiny cotton ball for his bunny tail. I know I've said it before but I love that little monkey. The sentiment is from the same pack of stamps. The "buckle" is a Paper Studio Brad with ribbon from my stash threaded through.

I really like how this card turned out because the colors are so soft.

Have a great evening.

MoJo Monday and another baby!

Good Morning! It feels like forever since I posted something!

The sketch at MoJo Monday is another awesome one. I love those sketches.

Check them out here.

I used the sketch for a card for another new baby announcement in the family. My husband's cousin and his wife just announced their expecting their second baby! Yay. This baby is due a month after my Sister-in-law's baby. So exciting...but it makes for some pressure for my hubby and I...lol! We think maybe this summer we'll hop on the baby train. We're taking a trip over sea's for our two year anniversary so maybe when we get back.
Anyway, here is the card I came up with.

The pregnant lady and the images in the center of the circle are both clip art files. The circle wording was done with Word. The scalloped circles were cut with Nesties. I just thought that little lady was adorable!

Thanks for stopping by!
