I WON!!!!

I woke up this morning to some AMAZING news!
Nilda, over at the Gypsy Spot along with Custom Crops were giving away a Gypsy!! Yep, a GYPSY!!! So I entered the contest never dreaming I would win. I never win anything much less a prize like that! But I did win! WOOOOO HOOOOO!
I cannot believe it! I signed on this morning to look at emails and I saw a comment from my blog in my email. It was from my bloggin' buddy Bridget. She always leaves such wonderful comments on my blog but, this one was especially exciting!!! She wrote: "Congrats on the big win over at the gypsy spot. Lucky you. Enjoy your new Gypsy! "
Well at first I thought she has to be mistaken....it has to be a different Chrissy....lol! SO, I hopped on over to the Gypsy Spot gave a click on #55 and low and behold it brought me right back here!
The laptop went flying and i did some, most likely, pretty awful dancing! LOL!
I cannot thank Nilda at the Gypsy Spot and the people over at Custom Crops enough for offering this awesome giveaway!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Golf is life...

Hi there,
I just wanted to share a card with you all. I made this for my hubby's grandpa that just turned 90. He loves golf and god bless him, he still plays!
Side note....poor Tiger Woods should have stuck to just golfing and he wouldn't be in so much trouble...lol!
I'm also entering this in this weeks challenge over at Just Buggin'. The challenge was Sew it. Well, I have a mini sewing machine but haven't got around to trying it out yet.
So here is what I came up with.....

I cut the golf images from Sports Mania. I cuttlebugged the golf ball and then distressed it with Tim Holtz ink. I mounted the "golf is life" on a block that I cuttlebugged with the argyle folder. It has tiny little stitch marks on it. Then I doodled some faux stitches around the brown border of the same box. I hope that will do for the challenge. That's about all my sewing talents for now....lol!

Golf & 90th Birthday

Hi there,
I have one more basket to share with you today. My hubby's grandfather turned 90 today so the family got together and had a little dinner for him. He LOVES golf and still plays, god bless him, hubby and I got him a gift card for the golf course he has his league play at. So I wanted a creative way to give it to him.

The bucket is a driving range bucket. I filled it with tissue and put golf balls on the top. The golf cuts are all from Sports Mania. The balloons were cut from George and then run through the Cuttlebug using the argyle folder. 90 is cut from Storybook and finally Happy Birthday was cut from Hello Kitty Greetings.

He really loved it...so I was thrilled!

Happy Birthday Papa!

Thanksgiving Basket

Hi!
I wanted to share the Thanksgiving Basket I did last week for the assisted living Thanksgiving party/dinner.

The pilgrims, Indians, cornucopia, and turkey were all cut from paper doll dress up. I distressed some of their clothes and feathers. There is also a lot of cuttlebugging although it's hard to see in the picture. Happy Thanksgiving was cut from wild card as well as the scalloped oval it's sitting on. The turkey and pies were cut using the Cricut along with Sure Cuts Alot. They are patterns from My Scrap Chick!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend!
Thanks for stopping by.

Shop till you drop!

Good evening!
I had quite the productive day! Tree is up, decorated and lit (that's always the scary part) the rest of the stuff is sprinkled about. Plus, I finished my challenge for the Scrappy Frogs Challenge blog.
This week we were asked to create a shopping themed card being it's the shopping season.
We we're going to post the challenge yesterday, but a lot of us were out doing shopping of our own....FUN! Although I didn't venture to far out in the world.
Here is my take on the challenge....

I used my brand spankin' new Paisley cartridge to weld the purse together to create the shaped card. I used some paper with dresses and shoes as the pouch part of the purse. The flap of the purse is some pink glitter paper I had lying around. The ribbon was from my stash. The "shop till you drop" clasp was computer generated and then cut with Nesties. I added a few adhesive gems here and there and that was it.

Be sure to head on over to the Scrappy Frogs challenge blog to check out what my design team sisters came up with. Don't forget to play along!!!!

Mojo Monday -

Happy Saturday!
I've had my Mojo Monday entry done since Wednesday...
but the days have been crazy and I'm just getting it posted.
Hop on over to Mojo Monday and try their sketches...they are FAB!
Here is my take......

The paper is from K&Company. I used a EKsuccess punch for the top scallops. Ribbon was from Hobby Lobby. The leaf was also from Hobby Lobby's harvest collection. I used the Stampin' Up ticket punch for the corners of the box then added adhesive pearls in the indents.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great rest of the weekend!

One Cornucopia - Three Challenges

Hello There... Me again!
I wanted to share a card with you that I'm entering in two challenges. The first is for Just Buggin'. The challenge this week was two use three Cricut die cuts on your project. I used the cornucopia, banana, lemon, and grapes from Paper Doll Dress Up. I also used the apple from Doodlecharms. I hope that works...lol.
The second challenge is for Bitten By the Bug. I haven't played over there forever. So I was excited to give it a go this week. They we're to use the cornucopia from Paper Doll Dress Up.
Last but certainly not least is Cricut Cardz Challenge...their theme this week is to use a Thanksgiving theme using any cartridge.
Here is the card.....

As you all know the Cornucopia was cut from PPDU. I embossed it with the Distress Stripes
Cuttlebug folder and then distressed it more with Tim Holtz ink. I pop dotted the front to give it a little dimension. I tied some rafia in a bow and hooked it to the tail. The banana and lemon were also cut from PDDU and shadowed with the distress ink. I cut the grapes twice from PDDU, then cut each grape off the second and distressed the edges and pop dotted a select few. I didn't quite get the look I was going for but it turned out OK. All that is mounted on some blocks cut with Nesties and a little doodlin. The flowers are Prima's with adhesive gems as centers.

Overall I like how this turned out.

Pilgrim Bear

Hello!
Hope you're having a great Saturday!
I wanted to share a Thanksgiving card I made for a little one.

The bear is a new My Scrap Chick file called Pilgrim Bear. Isn't he just the cutest! I embossed his basket with Distressed Stripes using the Cuttlebug. Then inked it a little to give it a rustic look. The brown box he's mounted on is embossed with my pumpkin embossing folder. Paper is K&Company. The rafia I had lying around from another project and I found the leaves at Hobby Lobby way back when!

Thanks for taking time out of your weekend to stop by!

Have a great day!

Another First Birthday

Happy Friday all...hope you all have some fun plans this weekend!
I wanted to share yet another first birthday card. I told you guys I had many friends all have babies at the same time....LOL! They are leaving me in the dust....LOL!
Anyway here is my latest.....

The dinosaur was cut from paper dolls and then Cuttlebugged with my mosaic folder. I colored in his teeth with a white gel pen and I inked the edges of him a little bit. He is mounted on a blue square that was embossed with my new star embossing folder. The sentiment is computer generated and then was cut out using center point and my George Cartridge.

Sympathy

Hi there!
Happy Hump day!
I just wanted to share a card I made recently for a friend of mine who lost their mom recently.
She had been sick for awhile and my heart just aches for the family.
Sympathy cards are always hard....

I used Home Decor for the birdie. The black dotted border is a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is a stamp but I can't remember who. I embossed the white background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi there,
Just wanted to share a quick card I made for a cousin that has to have a nerve block done in his back tomorrow. No fun! So hubby and I wanted to send a card letting him know we're thinking of him. I also found another great challenge blog that loves the Cricut as much as I do. It's called Just Buggin'. Check em out here. The challenge this time was to use an animal and by chance I did....
Here is goes.....

The scalloped circle is cut from a Nestie. The sentiment is computer generated then cut with a Nestie. The turtle was cut from Walk in my Garden. I pop dotted the shell to give it a little depth. The eye is a brad with a white dot on it. Some "manly bows" and I was done!

Camera Thanks

Hi there,
I just wanted to share a card I did for my mom. My one camera broke, well it wouldn't
auto-focus, so basically it meant broke for me....lol! Anyway she showed up one day with some new parts. Woohoo! I'm back in business!
I'm also entering this card on a fabulous new challenge blog I found. It's called Cricut Cardz Challenge. Check it out here. This blog is right up my ally cuz you all know I love my Cricut!

For this card I used Locker Talk for the camera. I used glossy accents on the lens so it looks shiny like a lens. The bracket was cut using Storybook. I cut it on blackout then with the frame. The "Thanks" was cut using a Quick Cutz die in the Cuttlebug. Ribbon and button were from my stash. The background paper is DCWV.

Baby Girl & MoJo Monday....again!

Hi there,
I'm on a roll....
I loved this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch so much that I decided to do another card using the same layout. This card is for another little girl that came into our family. Leighton was born to my hubby's cousin and his wife a couple weeks ago and we finally get to go see her tonight! I'm so excited.
Here is the card I made for the little one.....

The background paper was a single sheet purchase at JoAnn's awhile back. The sayings on it are actually felt so it's real fuzzy. The scalloped circles are nesties and then embossed with the Cuttlebug. The little feet were cut from New Arrival using the Cricut. I added some pink adhesive gems and a bow and I was done!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone!
Sorry I have been MIA! I wanted to share a recent card I made for the Scrappy Frogs Challenge blog. For this challenge we were asked to create something that had to do with Thanksgiving Dinner.
Here is my take......

The background paper I believe is DCWV. I got it last year and never used it. I thought it was perfect for this challenge with the pumpkin pies on it. The turkey was cut with SCAL using the Cricut. The pattern is from My Scrap Chick. The stamp I just got at Michael's but can't remember who makes it. The little leave brads were from the Harvest Collection at Hobby Lobby. Now head on over to the Scrappy Frogs Blog (link on sidebar) and show us your Thanksgiving dinner creations. There is even a chance to win a great prize!
