Congratulations New Grandparents!

Hello again!

Here is another card I created today. This card is for the grandparent's of the new little baby I've been telling you about.

For this card I used New Arrival for both the baby and stork. The baby's face is a stamp from the Peechy Keen line. The marquee is cut from Storybook and a made it shadowed by bumping up the size 1/4 inch. I ran the pink part of the marquee through the Cuttlebug with a Fiskars plate that had baby feet and hands. The blanket and storks hat are glitter paper from Hobby Lobby. The lace heart boarder is a Martha Stewart Punch. The ribbon I found at JoAnn's in the baby shower aisle. The flowers are Prima.

Life is good - Bitten by the Bug

Happy Friday!

The challenge over at Bitten By the Bug this week was to use the "Life is Good" cut from the Graphically Speaking cartridge. Regina and the design team have wonderful talent. Many of you probably have visited the site. If not check it out here.

I love this cartridge. But coming up with something with this cut proved difficult for me. I love playing along and I wasn't going to let this get the best of me!

Here is what I came up with.......

Many of you have seen the post below this one of the baby basket I made for a family member. Well, Alexandria has a big brother named Andrew. So, hoping that he isn't feeling left out with the new baby I decided to make him a little card and got him a book about being a big brother. The whole sentiment is "Life is good" then on the inside it says "when you're a big brother". I love the dinosaurs on Paper Doll Dress Up so I used them.

I used the little Triceratops as the "little sister". They always seemed a little more feminine to me. I dressed her up with a few stickles, adhesive pearls, and a little bow. I ran both dinos through the cuttlebug using a Fiskers Leather plate. I also distressed them both with Tim Holtz distress ink and some Colorbox Cat's eye chalks.

The palm tree is also cut from Paper Doll Dress Up.

The grass was cut from Plantin Schoolbook and altered with Design Studio.

I cut everything twice. I pop dotted "Life is Good", the ferns on the palm tree, both Dinos, and the grass.

Baby girl gift basket!

Good afternoon everyone.

I wanted to share a project that I just finished for my DH's cousin's wife. They just had a little girl this morning named Alaxandria . Mom, baby and dad are doing well.

I wanted to make a little gift basket with baby stuff inside. Here is what I came up with.

I bought the little wooden "bucket" per se...at Hobby Lobby and got some basic essentials. Desitin, Baby Lotion, Hand Sanitizer, Bibs, Wash Clothes, and a little outfit. I put all that down in the bottom of the bucket. I cut out all the images sticking out from the New Arrival cartridge.

Here is a closer look at the the top half.

I made a bunch of these little "roses" by folding rolling and then folding over tiny little baby socks. I bought a few silk rose branches at Hobby Lobby and pulled the silk flower off.
Each of the New Arrival items I cut several times and layed to give them a little depth and help sturdy them. I cut the baby dress at 5". I layered three prima flowers and a jeweled brad for the flower. I tied three tiny bows and adhered them to the bottom of the dress with glue dots. On the scalloped bottom I also added tiny adhesive pearls to each scallop. For the bloomers I cut them in a different shade of pink and ran them through the cuttlebug to help them look a little more frilly.
These little baby feet I cut from New Arrival at 3 inches on glitter paper. The scalloped layers I cut from my Nestabilites. I embossed the white with my Swiss Dots cuttlebug folders.

The stork I cut at 5 1/2 inches. I cut him 3 times. His hat is cut from the same glitter paper as the feet. I put a ribbon for the band on his hat and added some adhesive pearls from Michaels.
I also added a small ribbon around his neck.

The bottle is cut at 4 inches. I ran the bottom part of the bottle through the cuttlebug using a Fiskers striped embossing plate. The white "milk" part showing through the bottle was also run through the cuttlebug and I added liquid glaze to make it a little more shiny so it looked like milk. The "sucky" part was cut in beige. And I added a little ribbon.

This rattle is probably my favorite. I cut it at 5 a bunch of times. I ran the top part through the cuttlebug. The three little flowers are Paper Studio brads from Hobby Lobby. I blinged out the handle with some adhesive gems also from Hobby Lobby and tied a small ribbon.

The wording on the tag is computer generated. The tags are cut from Nestabilites. I added an eyelet to run ribbon through and tied it on the main ribbon attached to the box.

The baby carriage I believe was cut at 4 1/2. I cut many many layers of this. The bottom of the carriage is embossed with the Cuttlebug using a Fiskars heart plate. The hood of the carriage is cut from patterned paper that had a lacy look to it. The baby blanket is cut from pink vellum to give it a softer look. It's hard to see in the photo. I added adhesive pearls to the fold in the hood and on the handle. I glued a ribbon to seperate the baby blanket and the hood and added a skittle. I also added to skittles to the base of the wheel.

House Mouse Challenge

Well, I decided I could slide one more in here today.

I did this one for the House Mouse Monday Challenge Blog. I Love House Mouse Stamps if you all can't tell...LOL. So I was so excited when I found their blog. If you love these little mice and their friends check them out here.

This week the design team was asked to create a Mother's Day card. Mother's Day in the United Kingdom is March 22. I decided I would do one for my mom and keep it for a special occasion. Here is what I came up with.
I used a Martha Stewart border punch. The stamp is cut out with Nestabilites. The plasic flower near the stamp is something I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is computer generated. I used stickels on the "steam" over the bunny and inside his ears.

It's a Girl!

Good afternoon! I love days of crafting.

I did this card for my cousin who is due to have a little girl anyday now! I'm so proud of myself because it's my first shape card done with my Cricut! I wasn't sure I could pull it off but it came out pretty good.

I used the guidelines for the Cuttlebug Spot Monday Challenge which is always to use your cuttlebug and something else. This week the design team was asked to use buttons on their projects. If you haven't checked them out do so here. Great stuff going on every Monday!

For this card I used New Arrival for the baby dress welded in Design Studio at 7 inches. I used my cuttlebug textile texture embossing folder on the "diaper". The little band around the dress is a cuttlebug embossing border frills. The "It's a Girl" on the bottom corner of the dress is from the baby cut/emboss combo. I used Flower Soft along the edge of the shirt where the ruffle starts. The ruffle is just some tull I had left over.

Here is the card I came up with using the sketch. I made this card for my dad's birthday next Sunday. He loves golf so I used this House Mouse stamp. It's Maxwell Golf Ball & Tees. He's so cute...don't ya think?
The candle border punch is one of the new slim line EK success punches. Michael's just started carrying them! Check them out.
The circle text was done with Word.
I also used "skittles" down the side. The paper is from the new DCWV Latte stack.

Get Well!

Good Morning!

Hope everyone is having a good Friday!

Just wanted to post a quick card I did this morning for a family friend who had hip surgery the other day. Lately I noticed I've had to do a lot of cards for men....which is WAY out of my comfort zone. Oh well, I like a challenge and I think I pulled them off O.K.

Anyway, about the card. I used House Mouse, Mouse Drops stamp. I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Distressed stripes on the brown mat behind the stamp. The blue band is embossed with Swiss Dots. The stamped image is cut out with my beloved Nesties. I colored the stamp with my Prisma Colored Pencils.

House Mouse Challenge

Good evening.

Here is another card I did today. Again, I'm branching out to new challenge spots. This one is for House Mouse Monday Challenge. If you love House Mouse stamps it's certainly the place to be. I know I will start hanging out there a lot! I LOVE House Mouse!!!!

This weeks challenge was to use a sketch that they provided. I tried to publish the sketch here but I couldn't get it to work.

The stamp is Mudpie "Oh Lucky Day". I thought this was a perfect start to all my St. Patrick's Day cards. I used Nestabilities to mount the stamp.

Cuttlebug Challenge / Mojo Monday

Well I decided to jump into two more challenge blogs. Mojo Monday
and Cuttlebug Challenge. Check them out. There is great stuff going on over there.

This card qualifies for both. The layout of the card is from the challenge sketch for MoJo Monday.

Over at the Cuttlebug Challenge they asked that you use the color yellow. BettyBee said she had the song "They Call It Mellow Yellow" on the brain. So FUN!

I made this card for my husband who had to leave today to go to St. Louis on a business trip. He won't be home till Saturday. :( I made this card to hide in his suitcase for when he gets there.

The flower is from Tinkerbell and Friends. It was the first time I used this cartridge and I LOVE it. Especially for all the pretty flowers. I used the cuttlebug on both yellow backrounds. The very back is the daisy A2 from the "with gratitude" cut/emboss combo. On the backround right behind the flower I used Swiss Dots. The sentiment is computer generated and then cut with my Nestabilites.

Honey, I miss you!

Happy Retirement

Good Morning! I wanted to share a card I made this morning for my uncle who just retired. You may remember a card I did for my aunt not to long ago. Well, now they both get to stay home and play. We're excited because they live four hours away in Piqua and now that they are retired there will be more time for "Family Fun"!!!! Yay!

For this card I used the Stampabilites Snoopy's Airplane stamp because my uncle LOVES airplanes! It was perfect! I used the Stampin' Up ticket punch around the edges of the stamp as well as a few brads. The brown band on the side is embossed with the Cuttlebug Houndstooth embossing folder. I was so excited because the embossing matches the design on the background paper perfectly!

St. Pat's Glass Block

Well, as you all may gather, I enjoy the changing of the seasons and or holidays. My house is always decorated for the upcoming holiday. On Sunday I spent the day taking down Valentine's decorations and letting the Leprechauns come out and play. It's so fun, and that way I don't get bored looking at the same old nick knacks all the time. The changing of the seasons/holidays comes from my mom. She's always had the seasonal stuff and it's always been our "fun day" to go looking for new items.

So, for Christmas I made my mom a Valentine's Glass Block. Well, now that St. Valentine has come and gone she, like me, was getting antsy and wanted it changed to St. Patrick's Day. So, I came up with this design. I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge for the shamrocks and I welded the border in Design Studio.

Dog in the tub!

This was a fun card to make and I made it fit with the challenge over at the Cuttlebug Spot this week. The Challenge was to use a lot of bling.

I wanted to make a card for my mom. She took Brinkley to get a bath when we got home from our trip. While we were away the two feet of snow had melted away in Ohio and everything was like a swamp outside and Brinkley loves to run. Well, he was a dirt ball. She volunteered to take him and pick him up while I got caught up on things around the house. She even sprang for the whole shampoo. So I wanted to make her a thank you.

The dog is from Paper Pups. I made the circle text with Word and matted it with nesties. I also used the bubble cuttlebug embossing folder behind the dog. I also used a few stickles on the bubbles in the cut. The background paper is from the new DCWV kitchen stack which had glitter in it! And finally, a few blue rhinestones as bubbles.Hope you like!

Bitten By The Bug

Well, first it's great to be back at the scrap table. It's been awhile!

Well, this week over at Bitten By the Bug, Regina's designers were asked to use the letter "B" from the Alphalicious cartridge as a monogram on a card. Check out their stunning work!

Anyway, I had a few cards that I wanted to make for family members and the juices started flowing. My aunt babysat Brinkley for us while we were in Disney last week so I decided the Bitten By the Bug challenge would work for this card since B is for Brinkley & Babysit.

I used Alphalicious for the "B". The puppy is from Paper Pups. They wording in the top part of the B and the circle text are both computer generated with Word. The scallops around the circle text are scallops. I distressed the edges of the card with Tim Holtz distress ink.

WOW!

Hello everybody!

All I can say is WOW! I went away on vacation to Disney World for a few days with my husbands wonderful family and I come back to find TWO blog awards waiting for me! We had a great time in Disney. We all live in Ohio so heading down to the Florida sunshine was a welcome change of pace. We had great weather mid 70's and not a drop of rain. We hung out at Epcot, Magic Kingdom and even did a "Backstage Magic Tour" which was awesome. For those Disney fan's out there that haven't done it be sure to check it out!

While vacation is always fun it's also good to be back home. I can't wait to get out my crafting stuff.

Conversation Hearts

I love traditional conversation hearts so when I saw this stamp I knew I had to get it! The stamp is stampabilites. I used divine swirls from the cuttlebug on the whole background. And two Paper Studio hearts. The matting is nesties. Thanks for looking!

Choo Choo Valentine

I'm having so much fun today! Scrap, scrap, scrap. This one is for a special little boy in my life. Someone over on the Cricut message board did something similiar with the train and I loved it so I decided to try it! The train is New Arrival. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the "tracks" and little buttons for the wheels. I also used the Cuttlebug Houndstooth folder behind the train! TFL!

Love Bug

I promise I am almost done with Valentine's Day....lol. I loved this little Studio G stamp. I finally got brave enough to use it. I used the Cuttlebug A2 embossing folder Floral Fantasy. The border punch is Martha Stewart Heart Lace punch. I tried to use Glimmer Mist but it didn't turn our very well. I'll have to practice a little more. Thanks for looking. Have a great day!

Male Birthday Card

Here is a card I did today for my cousin who lives far far away in Washington state. He's in the Air Force and he and his wife just had a beautiful baby girl named Emma. I made this card for him using the Birthday card cut/emboss combo from the Cuttlebug. The star is from George. The little brad on the ribbon is corduroy. It's so cute. I always struggle with cards for the men. It so much fun to use flowers and bling but the men just don't get excited about that.... LOL. Oh well, I think it turned out O.K. Bitten By The Bug

Good evening. I did this card for the Bitten By the Bug Challenge. This week Regina asked her design team to use the scalloped heart from Doodlecharms on a project, so I decided to play along. I'm not sure of my feelings on this card. One minute I really really like it and the next I'm not so sure. I'm always intimidated by the beautiful work the team over there does and the talent they have to mix patterns, and have so many different elements working together. Cuttlebug Spot Challenge

Well, it's another new week and that means another wonderful challenge over at the Cuttlebug Spot. This week the designers were asked to create a Valentine for a child using the cuttlebug. I decided to play along since most of my girlfriends all have kids now. I need to catch up...but that's another day. Anyway, one of my oldest friends just had a little boy right after Thanksgiving so it's his first Valentine's Day and I thought the plane from new arrival would be perfect. I went Cuttlebug crazy on this one. I used the heart A2 folder on the blue block behind the plane. I used a new cuttlebug border I just got the other day on the blue side bar. I also used the Love Language A2 embossing folder on the three hearts and on the wings of the plane. Also, the little stamp was a cut emboss stamp that came with my bug. The heart border is a Martha Stewart Valentines Lace punch. The windows are little heart eyelets....if you click on the picture you can see them better. I also bling'd the blue border with a few self-adhesive gems. Hope you enjoy!!!! Have a great day!

Valentine

Here is anther Valentine I did. I'm not sure who it's going to yet. For this one I used the
Spellbinders Nestabilities Ovals, a House Mouse Stamp, and some flowers. The little
"belt buckle" is a Spellbinders Shapeabilities. A few brads & a little bling and it was done.
